About the Founder of Ecco Bella
Ecco Bella’s founder is Sally Malanga. Not only does her company reflect her values: She also sits on the boards of Friends of Animals, Primarily Primates, and the New Jersey Sustainable Business Council.
Malanga’s business treats staff, customers, and vendors with respect. Furthermore, she educates consumers and raises money for the causes she cares about. These include climate change, factory farming, and animal welfare.
In her personal life, Malanga has been a vegetarian for over 30 years, and a vegan for more than five.

History and Slogan
The name Ecco Bella means “Behold Beautiful!” in Italian. And sure enough, the branding is a celebration of their customers’ inner beauty and the wonders of nature. Malanga clearly believes that everything we use, buy, and eat has an effect on the planet. Because of that, the Ecco Bella makeup brand encourages us to be humane consumers.
It’s also worth mentioning: Sally Malanga started this venture to protest the use of animal testing — and ingredients — in beauty products. Her disgust with these practices led her to learn about plant-based ingredients. A concern for our shared natural resources also inspired her to seek these ingredients from ethical sources. And yes, she does see Ecco Bella as an “activist company.”

Tracy Anderson, the fitness guru and author, is the new face of Ecco Bella. Because she’s all about empowering women to live a healthy life, she’s ideal for this role. Anderson calls Malanga “an advocate for nature” and “beauty’s best-kept secret.” You’ll soon see her showing off Ecco Bella makeup and products in her photos.
